As a witch and tarot reader, I like to incorporate music into my practice. I always feel like it's one extra step of luxury and beauty that I can add to make the experience more meaningful instead of just whipping out the deck and doing a quick reading like I am known to do sometimes. And I know I'm not the only one who does this. While I feel that there are some songs that I connect to deeply, I had wondered if there were specific songs I could play, specifically when reading tarot or meditating in the morning, to make my experience feel a little more magical. If the tarot cards had a song, what would it be?
What I have done is I have hand picked songs that I feel truly resonate and reflect each of the tarot cards. Similar to going through a tarot deck, when you put it on shuffle, it will play the song that the listener needs to hear. This is technology magic, honestly. I would recomend blessing your phone or device by your altar first, and before playing a song from the playlist, asking a specific question, like regular tarot. I have also included explanations and key words to what that card or song is really saying in that moment if you need help.
(IMPORTANT NOTE: Every Tarot deck is different, and people's music taste varies from person to person. Therfore, it is reasonable that you will not resonate with the same songs that I do. You are welcome to copy this format for tarot with your own songs as long as you credit me. (Tarot concept created by trashitama or something) I did not copy anyone while making this, I made this up. This will also not include any reversed meanings (yet?) because I feel it may be quite complicated. Also, for example, let's say you have Somebody to Love by Queen as your lovers card. A reverse of this would be kind of the exact same thing, but also the opposite. It's difficult to find songs like that. Difficult, not impossible. I may add them in the future. You could also make this much easier and assosiate cards with the literal names of the songs, (e.g. The Lovers = Lovers Rock) but the point is to resonate and reflect on the songs, so I don't recommend it. Do what works for you and your practice. I hope you enjoy this.)
Also, here is a link to Tille Walden, a wonderful artist and writer I enjoy who made the tarot deck I use in my everyday life. The colorfulness of her characters brings me joy and inspiration for this tarot deck.
